Is AllEar really free?
Yes. AllEar is free with no subscription and no per-minute fees. Every AI feature runs on your device, so there is nothing to meter or bill.
Does AllEar work offline?
Yes. Recording, transcription, search, AI chat and translation all run on your phone. The only time it uses the internet is to download an optional AI model file once, when you first enable a feature.
Does AllEar record phone calls?
No. Android blocks third-party apps from recording two-way phone calls. AllEar is for voice memos, meetings, lectures and interviews captured through the microphone.
How many languages does transcription support?
Transcription uses an on-device Whisper model that covers 90+ languages, with automatic language detection.
Is my audio private? Does anything get uploaded?
Your recordings, transcripts and questions never leave your phone. There is no account, no cloud sync and no analytics inside the app.
What audio formats can AllEar record?
M4A (small and universal), WAV (uncompressed) and FLAC (lossless) — you choose the format per recording.
